How it began
Octavio, son of Jose Oscar & Hilda Bautista, was born May 7 in McAllen. He grew up in Palmview, TX. Octavio attended La Joya ISD and was actively involved in Graphic Design, 3D Animation, Basketball, Student Council, & UIL.
Upon graduation in the Fall of 2009, Octavio enrolled in ITT Tech in San Antonio. Shortly after he moved back down to the Rio Grande Valley, which proved to be one of the best decisions he could have made. Soon after, he was blessed to have crossed paths with a fellow co-worker that would forever change his life.
Jenarae Nicole Alaniz, daughter of Javier & Rebecca Alaniz, was born on September 29 in McAllen. She grew up in Alamo, TX. Jenarae attended PSJA ISD and was actively involved in Cheerleading, Track, and National Honor Society.
After graduating in 2010, Jenarae enrolled at the University of Texas-Pan American in Edinburg, to pursue a degree in Anthropology. While attending UTPA, Jenarae began working part-time at Best Buy. She almost didn’t get a job interview, but she was so happy to get a job that would later change her life forever.
How we met
Eight years ago, Octavio met Jenarae at Best Buy, and so began the cutest love story of our generation. After some persistence and stopping by the front counter to chat, Jen agreed to their first date. They went to lunch after work and have been together ever since. They went out for Chinese food and their love of food and conversation started there. Octavio, to this day, still cannot believe that Jen can out-eat him almost every time. It’s a skill Jen is proud of but doesn’t always like to show off.
There were ups and downs along the way. Growing pains and career challenges that just made them stronger. Jenarae and Octavio have gone through multiple jobs, colleges, and weathered extreme wedding planning. Their love has prevailed through every challenge it’s faced; new jobs, cross country moves, and uncertain futures, but one thing that has remained the same, their unbreakable bond and selfless love for each other.
